Vietnam Announces UD1 Visa for High-Quality Talent
Who can apply?
The new visa category announced seeks to cover key investors, experts, managers and highly skilled workers employed by agencies and organisations headquartered at the International Financial Centre (IFC) as well as their accompanying family members (children under 18).
Issuance of Visa
Those successful will be granted a UD1 Temporary Residence Card with a validity of up to 10 years based on current proposals.
For those who do not qualify can look towards other routes such as the DT1-DT4 permitting foreign nationals the ability to establish a Vietnam based business.

Vietnam Investor Visa (DT Visa)
Vietnam’s Investor Visa—officially designated the DT Visa—is a business-driven immigration route for foreign nationals seeking to reside in Vietnam through capital investment or company establishment.
While the DT Visa is not a citizenship-by-investment or “Golden Visa” program, it offers qualified investors a structured pathway toward long-term residence and, subject to statutory requirements, potential naturalization over time.
DT Visa Categories & Investment Thresholds (2026)
Vietnam classifies investor visas into four tiers based on registered capital contribution.

DT1 — Strategic Investors

→ Temporary Residence Card: up to 10 years
DT2 — Large-Scale Investors

Investment in encouraged sectors
